Meet Miranda Paige
Hi, my name is Miranda! I'm a storyteller at heart. And I believe everyone's story deserves to be told!
Growing up my dream was to be a journalist. I was able to live out that dream as a TV news reporter at three different TV stations in South Dakota and Colorado for nearly 5 years. I ended up leaving the news industry for multiple reasons. I was grossly underpaid (which is very common in news.) My last job as a news reporter I was making less than $35k with years of experience and a college degree in news broadcasting. I knew I deserved better and wasn't being compensated properly for my hard work. I also left due to working wonky hours, missing every holiday, and having no work-life balance.
I'm still a journalist at heart. So I've decided to create a platform to help tell stories on my terms instead of through a big corporation.
I'm also now a communication specialist for a school district and I'm loving my job! I still get to tell stories, but now I get to focus on telling happy and positive stories instead of sad, doom and gloom stories.
It took a lof of soul searching and personal growth to get to where I am at today. I used to think I wasn't good enough as a reporter and that I didn't deserve more money. I felt so negative about myself and was constantly putting myself down. After reading a bunch of self help books, meditating, practicing gratitude and learning to talk more positively to myself I realized my self worth and made some big and scary changes.
My goal with this podcast is to share the stories of others who have made big changes in their lives and inspire those who want to make a change, but are afraid to make the leap. We all deserve to live our best life and follow our dreams. I'm tired of seeing people settling and not believing in themselves.
I hope by listening to the podcast you'll be able to find the greatness within yourself and live the life you've always wanted, but have been too scared to go after.
