#014: Leaving a Toxic Relationship and Falling in Love on a Hawaii Vacation

 After getting out of a toxic relationship, love was the last thing on  MacKayla Greene's mind. Then her friend invited her on a trip to Hawaii  where she met her soul mate. 

 In this episode, MacKayla talks all about how she unexpectedly met the love of her life. She also shares what it was like to be in and leave an emotionally abusive relationship. As well as what it's like to now be in a healthy relationship. MacKayla also talks about some career plot twists she's had along her journey.  

MacKayla is from Elkhart, Indiana. She and her two kids relocated to Oahu, Hawaii to be with her soul mate, Gary. She's a full time podcaster (I  Deserve It), content creator, influencer, blogger,  Hawaii  Realtor,  and runs an Etsy shop! 

What inspired you to make a big change in your life?
"I was ready to get rid of all the negativity & toxicity in my life. I knew I deserved better & so did my children. I was right."

Do you have an tips on how to make a "big change?" What would you tell younger you if you had the chance? 

"I want to say I would warn myself, but the trauma & struggles I faced have created the person that I am. I wouldn't be as strong as I am today nor would I have the passion to motivate others. For everyone else in this present moment, first learn to take care of YOU, learn to love YOU, & learn to put YOU first. Everything else will follow."

 What have you learned from your plot twist?
"I can do anything that I want to, fairytales exist, soulmates exist, & there is no such thing as a "honeymoon" phase because when it's the right person, it never goes away."

What is your favorite quote?
"If the plan doesn't work, change the plan, not the goal."
